sail loft in the Exumas?

Hey All,

We blew out the bolt rope on the luff of our mainsail. A really bad squall tore it even though we were fully reefed in. We are in the Bahamas on the northern tip of Long Island and headed north.

Does anybody know of a sail loft we could hit in the Exumas that could take care of us? We need a repair that would get us home to Florida. The only thing I have found online is Phillips Sailmakers in Nassau.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not aware of any sail loft in the Exumas. You might find somebody with a heavy duty sewing machine in Georgetown but that's about it.
During the winter season there might be a yachty who could do it on the sly but they're all gone by now. Nassau's probably your best bet.

I don't remember Georgetown having something like that. And if they do you would not find them online or anything like that. Your timing is just past the carnival and the race week, there might still be enough snowbirds down there, and i bet that you could find a sewing machine on one of the boats. Get on a cruiser net when you get to georgetown.
