Rusty Generator Pan

Before I owned my boat it must have had a water pump">raw water pump leak which led to the pan getting rusty. Anyone have ideas for stopping the rust short of pulling it out of the boat and replacing the pan? Any kind of treatment such as Ospho or Loctite Rust Neutralizer work?

Re: Rusty Generator Pan

Sure. My recommendation is Corroseal, available from Home Depot and Amazon. It leaves a varnish-like surface on the converted rust, which you can then paint.
