I've removed the stearing quadrant, pulled the rudder and patched the gaping hole w/aluminum plate and am about to haul her out. Does anyone know of a documented rudder tube/post rebuild and if so can u please point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated and needed as I'll be doing the the work and resorces are limited here in de VI.

Thanks in advance.

I suggest you look at the West System web site for ideas on fiberglass repair. I don't think there is anything specific to rudder tubes but it covers repair work with epoxy pretty well.

Thank you for responding but WS gives just basic info. I'm looking for something more spacific to my rudder post issue. I saw a build up (rudder post) somewere on the web but can't find it now...

Is there a fiberglass technitions forum out there? I know someone has done this repair before... Just need to find some more info before jumping into this headlong.
