Rodents on the hard stand

Hello,

A mate called me to help him with some repairs on his 32 foot fiberglass vessel that is at the shipyard on a hard stand.

This morning we noticed there are a lot of cats around that are starting to do some bad stuff to the boat.

What can we use to keep the cars away in the evenings when no one is around. They somehow get under the top cover !!

Thanks.

Alan

Well, you have two options, kill them or feed them over in another abandoned boat maybe. Or a neighbors you don't particularly like. They tend to stay wherever there is shelter and food. I'm no cat lover though so I wouldn't have much of a problem with the first option, or calling animal control, if there is one.

Mothballs. They don't like the smell of camphor.

The title to your thread reads "Rodents on the hard stand". Do you mean cats or rats?
I assume you don't really mean "cars".

I would like to point out that cats are not rodents. Check to see if they have a neuter and release program in your area.

Nails in the parking lot will keep the cars away.

OOhh, I don't think so! It would be like a "roach motel"... they would drive in to the carpark, but they couldn't drive back out, so there would be an ever increasing number of them there!!

Cheers,

Jim
