Replacing my ceiling panels- Hunter Horizon 26

Hey!

I am currently doing up my Hunter Horizon 26 and I have hit a bit of a wall.

I am trying to replace the electrics which means I need to take off the plastic forming over the ceiling which may result in it breaking and not be easily replaced. I also need to get to the leaky windows as they are not holding up well at all which will be extremely difficult if I can't get to them.

So has anyone tried doing this in the past or at least know what I can replace the plastic forming with if it is beyond repair?

Many thanks in advance to whoever replies!

Your panels appear to be made out of heavy plastic covered material formed around frames. If you can maintain the frames as you disassemble, then you can recover with the fabric of your choice, and could really get creative with it. I almost cited a source of panels per se, but then saw how you have fabric bent around corners. Here is that source for comparison, should you decide to replace the fabric with stiff panels.

Thank you!
I don’t suppose you know how would be best to remove the plastic headlining? It is a specifically moulded plastic.
I think it is glued to the fibreglass and I have to take it off to be able to fix a number of seals.

Be really careful as you disassemble this, prying gently so that you don't break moulded plastic parts. They probably are put on the same way automobile plastic panels mount, with serrated-point plugs that go into holes but don't without a bunch of prying come out. If you can wiggle the end of a flat screwdriver up close to one of them (probably the buttons you see on the outside of your panels) and pry, you have less chance of breaking the panel.

I will definitely try that thank you!
I don’t suppose you know if the plastic supports the fibreglass structure?
If i can’t reuse it because I have damaged it I still want the boat to be structurally sound haha
