Replacement Water Deck filler cap

On my 1994 Motiva Yacht the cap of the flush mounted deck fitting (for water) is cracked and I fear that seawater is entering my tank. Can anyone direct me to a source for a replacement cap. I would like to avoid having to replace the cap and deck Fitting.
Attached are two Fotos of the cap.

Re: Replacement Water Deck filler cap

No luck contacting Motiva as it seems they have closed down shop. Possibly someone has a source for such a cap.

I would like to avoid having to replace both the cap and filler-tube as the deckfitting is dry and without any rust.

Re: Replacement Water Deck filler cap

Robert,

They are sold in England by Force 4. Given the cheap price I wouldn't hesitate to change the cap and buy a couple of spare seals whilst your at it. I change the seals every couple of years for both the diesel and water deck fillers just to be safe. If they leak, they you are in for a world of pain with salt water or rain getting into the tanks, just not worth the risk for the low price.

Pete,

thanks so much for the contact Information. Yes, I agree, spares are to be kept on board, lest a cap go over the side…

Re: Replacement Water Deck filler cap

Just a heads up on this, my boat has these same EZ Deck Fills. The caps sold by Force 4 are incompatible with the seals that they sell for those caps. The new caps have a small upturned lip at the end of the bayonet and the flat white seals will not fit under that lip and so won't seat without assuming an oval shape. Also, these flat white seals look a little different than that black seal with the step that you have pictured. That black seal was also the original on mine.

We ended up using a knife to trim off the upturned lip, and then the white seal will seat properly, but I'm not sure if it will provide a watertight seal as we've had water ingress following the change.

Re: Replacement Water Deck filler cap

Thanks for the heads-up. Did something similar, but use an o-ring instead.
