Replacement Ball Valve Handles ?

Having a hard time finding a replacement handle for our fuel tank ball valve. It's a stainless steel ball valve but the handle has seen its better days. Not sure what to do with 50+ gallons of fuel in the tank, or I would change it all out but a new handle would solve the whole problem. The handle still rotates but there is more flex than a soda can in the metal and would hate to fill my bilge with 50 gallons.

Anybody know of a company that sells replacement handles, 3/4".

so long as its the handle and not the shaft thats worn its a pretty easy thing to make. usually they are a bronze/brass shaft flattened on 1 side sometimes both. a machine shop could do one if you measured shaft diameter and then determined the profile. Im guessing that the shaft is worn in which case all bets are off.

I will check tomorrow morning and see if I can remove the old handle first.

I had that problem once. Got the replacement handle from a company called "Vice Grips."

LOL excellant

Actually companies like Appollo etc. will sell replacement handles but nothing beats a few varied sized Vice grips in the tool box

Yeah! pull the handle. If the slot is worn then it can be replaced. Just get the manufactures name off the valve and log on to their web site. They can tell you where a local dealer would be.

Who's been on my boat? That's my ball valve.

Thanks for the replies.

First thought through my mind.

At least until you can get a new handle or valve.
