Removing old graphics
I'm in the process of removing an old graphic (boat name and hailing port). With a heat gun and plastic scraper have been able to get off all of the lettering. Any ideas about how to remove the leftover vinyl? Don't want to damage the Awlgripped finish. Acetone, alcohol, thinner, etc.? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Removing old graphics
Some kinda solvent
Don’t work in the sun
No abrasives
3m adhesive remover works on most residues
Give it a try
Another residue remover is butter ... yes butter
Mush it on and let it sit for a while

Re: Removing old graphics
I would try mineral spirits first. Use a sponge and let it soak a little, the best part is it dosen't evaporate quickly.

3m adhesive remover works far better than Goofoff, wx40, etc. it’s a miracle.

Re: Removing old graphics
Many thanks to one and all for the advice. Probably should have gone with the 3M but store didn't have it and not much open around here right now. Went with the goofoff and with a lot of elbow grease it did the job.
