Removing Maxwell VC500 Capstan

I'm trying to remove Maxwell Capstan off a Catalina 34 for regreasing. The retaining washer on drum won't budge despite liberal spraying of WD40 with elbow grease. Am I missing something?

Any ideas appreciated.

If it is simply stuck...50% acetone, 50% atf.

What is ATF?

Automatic transmission fluid. ATF and acetone mixed are excellent at penetrating and releasing stuck parts.
