Remember 'breaking all the rules?'

Some of you might remember that fascinating odyssey-the guy who bought the big Kanter sight unseen, many adventures and mishaps followed.

I remember that he got pissed at CF and left in a bit of a huff. Does anybody know how the end to this tale turned out, by chance? I hope he came out of the whole thing ok. He sure learned a lot about boat repairs!

Yea, would like to know as well. Answering to your post keeps it from getting to the bottom of the pile of postings as well.

Just a bump as the Americas wake up. Anybody ever hear anything about how the saga ended?

Jongleur,

Sorry, I'm a luddite, I don't know how to do links, but the name of the thread was "Breaking All The Rules", and should come up for you with a CF Google Custom Search, under the Search menu.

Oh, yeah! That guy! Does anybody know
what the outcome was? Did anybody meet
him? The saga was fascinating.

Re: Remember 'breaking all the rules?'

I met Homeless and saw his boat at The Boatworks on the Gold Coast before he took off for Darwin.

I too would be interested to know if he ended up selling or did he finally get it to Asia.

And was most entertaining to read (in a good meaning of the phrase).

Re: Remember 'breaking all the rules?'

That thread was unfortunate. Homeless had no obligation to any of us, yet he posted detailed descriptions of how he was going about fixing his boat. But some here on CF knew better than him, questioned his work product with out ever having seen it and worse, questioned his integrity. It is fine to have a discussion, this is an Internet forum afterall, but once the personal attacks came, we were all left without the rest of the story.

I would've loved to know how he finally got the engine going and if any other issues surfaced. We can all learn from these threads, even if we disagree on the OPs decisions or processes. But I'm quit certain we will see more of these thread endings as the 'experts' can't help themselves...

I wish he would prove all of us naysayers wrong.

Re: Remember 'breaking all the rules?'

I don't know why I thought of it after all this time, but I was pretty fascinated by the whole thing. Equal parts admiration and pity, maybe?

Anyway, it was a good tale. I was sorry to not get to learn how it turned out, hence the new thread. Maybe somebody will tune in who knows.

So tired of people offering as answers and 'facts' things which are just their ideas and opinions.
