Refit Stove from Kero to Propane

G'day all and Happy New years

I'm still in the refit effort of our Cape Dory 31 and one of the issues is the Kenyon gimballed pressure kerosene 2 burner stove/oven that's currently installed. I removed the whole thing last summer, hauled it home and went through it then re installed. Bottom line I do not like the resulting flames in the start up process. Above the stove there was ample evidence of past events with soot and blistering. I installed an aluminum and insulated heat dissipation plate to prevent further damage but still get back to my dislike of the kerosene process.

We bought a 2 burner Force 10 stove which I've been fabricating gimalling for but I really like the present Kenyon installation and the stove/oven itself is very nice. With the ABYC standards in mind re safety I've been looking for a way to convert to Propane and the closest I've come to is a Camp Chef using it's components. Seems to have what's necessary.

Does anyone know of conversions that have been done and information I can be pointed to?

We also recently purchased a Magma BBQ for later plumbing into the propane but that's down the road during bottle install etc.

Thanks all

Hmmmmm?? I found all too frustrating to do a simple conversion on an alcohol pressure Princess two burner. I'd not even consider a stove oven; gimballed or not !

Add up all the ABYC bits'n'pieces and a couple hours time and your better off spending the (considerable) $$ on a factory produced model
I'm an inveterate DIY'er, well versed in plumbing practices. Manifold/s, regulator/s, 12 v shut off , override box/switches , single line to each appliance, flex hose at unit and then a thermocouple at each burner!?!?! Mucho dinero!
Then add the frustration of metric , SAE, proprietery fittings and tubing?? Owwwww!
Until I hit the lottery, I'll use the Origo 3000 non-pressurized unit I was gifted and learn to luv it

I changed from a Wallas Kero glass cooktop to propane and never looked back.
It was all about making good popcorn aboard.
If I had it to do over, I'd not change a thing.

Just Do It !

Electric popcorn poppers are the best choice for liveaboards.
