Re: Rain filling the bilge and more

It has been recommended that if you are going to be on the hard for a while , remove the hose from the lowest through hull and leave the sea cock open. (Be sure to replace it before splashing)

2nd for notiesbob's suggestion.

Sit inside the boat while a friend soaks it down with a hose. Best way to track a leak(s)

Re: Rain filling the bilge and more

That is a lot of water. Guessing the cockpit is draining into boat. Plug the scuppers and put water in cockpit, see where it goes. Just my guess, the cockpit drain was plugged and someone poked a long screwdriver to declog them and poked a hole into the hose.

Rain filling the bilge and more

Ah yes those scupper drains. I’d forgotten about them. I was the happy owner of a Sabre 38 mk ii.
If the 28 has the same fittings they are not expensive , just annoying. Under the rectangular stainless grilles.

They crack and fail.

Sounds like a lot of water. You might also check your anchor chain hawse pipe while you are at it (if you have one?)
