Racor filter hose fitting size

Hi
will add a second Racor 500 primary as backup to the one I have.
trying to have all needed supplies before getting to it,trying to determine the fuel hose size I need.
Have red hoses for the round trip with all markings CG approved etc and cannot find a clear shot at size,I can read 1/4 in just a short section.could it be 1/4" diameter??,thinking is so small?
Anybody remembers what sizes are you using?
do not like to go,buy several feet of hose plus all fittings and valves to find out they are the wrong size.

Re: Racor filter hose fitting size

The fittings are sold separately. I have 3/8" on my boat to my Racor but yours might be 5/16". All depends on who installed it.

Re: Racor filter hose fitting size

right
I have the new racor and extra electric Seachoice Gold -flo,plan to install as backup when the already installed primary gets clogged up,working will be messy as diesel is concern and like to have the extra hose, valves and fittings on hand and not have to run and get the stuff needed in the middle of the mess.
The only portion of existing hoses on sight seems to have marked like an 1/4? and that bothers me,looks like too small? however the specs have sizes 1/4 to 3/8 on both ends of the sizes.
I guess could get a 5/16 hose with different sizes fittings?and adapt to what hose I have,
thank you very much.
