My
boat has a Nova Kool
refrigeration system Model LT200f that could be quite old, it has never been run while I have owned the
boat. I have the Danfoss
compressor out of the boat as part of the
engine space re-build. I am getting to the point where I am starting to think about putting it back in the boat and have been visually inspecting the unit and have noticed a kink at one of the connectors, should I be concerned about this? Should I expect that I will have to recharge with refrigerant prior to running, (Unit has potentially sat idle for 13 years)? I ran some jumper wires from a
battery today to the various positive and negative leads on the controller and was only able to get the muffin fan turning, no
compressor start, am I wrong in my assumption that I would need to have the thermostat swith wired in to test the compressor? Is there any tests I should try to perform prior to reinstalling in the boat or considering that the
installation is very easy connect the wires and connections and see if she starts up? Lastly, from a visual standpoint all the all the components look very good, would you have an issue running a thirty year old
refrigeration system in the boat?
