Purpose of this screw ...

Hi Folks ... Have attached pic of rudder post in my Catalin 350. There is a screw towards the bottom that I cirdled in red. Can someone tell me the purpose, it's only partially screwed in ... thx ....

It looks like one of the alignment points for the stuffing box and bearing tube that would have been glued/sikaflexed in place inside the outer fiberglass tube.
There seem to be a few more of the grub screws under the stuffing box collar.

I would ask the folks at Catalina. They have a good rep for responsiveness, and would actually know the answer to your question.
