Propane LPG flex hose

Trying to hook-up my magma bbq grill and need to find some 5/16" id propane flex hose. I've searched a lot but can't seem to find a source that sells it 'per foot'. Don't need the pre-fabbed ones with pressed connectors. Can anyone help me find a vendor - need about 15'. Appreciate any help. Bruce

buying it in 'bulk" is hard to do, no one wants the liability, where would you find the end fittings. just buy a 15ft length that's prefab'd not expensive at Defender.

Check with these folks
Mr. Heater Hoses and Hose Kits
They have 1/4 inch may have bigger. 1/4 will likely work for you, ask them.

Check with your local "propane and propane products" dealer (Tks Hank Hill) Most will make up a custom hose for a nominal price.

New law in Ca., the propane dealer cannot make up a hose to your specks, they must purchase in various lengths pre made units from a certified manufacture, just found this out, as I had purchased a new barbecue and needed a new longer hose, so went back to the BIG propane supplier I had used before, they had to order the hose.

I just did the same thing... I purchased my hose from A-1 hose and coupling.

You and I both. Why would someone only want the hose if they don't now where to get it. The fittings are the critical part. A hose clamp don't fit the bill.

In Canada , the code only allows us to use " UL approved" ten foot manufactured hoses. Propane is nothing to fool with. It's way beyond dangerous. It lays low where you can't smell it and it can send you to the moon real quick.

For that matter the copper tubing used for LP is not the same as you buy at Lowes. Wall thickness is more.

Copper tube: Fuel Oil, L.P. and Natural Gas Services Use
Type L or Type ACR tube with flared joints in
accessible locations and brazed joints made
using AWS A5.8 BAg series brazing filler metals
in concealed locations.

I know they required flared joints. That is one I have never understood. It would seen they are more likely to fail from vibration or a bad flare?

Actually you can't use hose for any permanent installation and you can't run it through walls or ceilings either. If you use it for a portable appliance then maximum length is 30 feet. Your propane must be in it's own compartment vented to the outside only, or in a rack hanging off your boat. That's a few rules you might run into. But there's many more.
