So the big cat I mentioned in post #178, did eventually end up dragging
anchor and was headed directly at me
This after he/we sat in the same spots for 24 hours but were a bit protect by the cement ships on the first night. First night we had winds to around 20 knots
Tide change every 6 hours or so and quite strong
He started dragging around 6 pm or so last night and I happened to be watching the squall coming in ……….. it was the leading edge of a front and the winds came in from the WNW so there was no protection where we were anchored. Winds were around 30 knots according to the buoy/weather station nearby. I think we were actually getting more
wind that the
weather station
I called them on the
radio first which they may have heard but also blew my whistle. They came out and she started maybe two engines while he got the
anchor
They dealt with the squall like this for a while then anchored again closer to me but not directly in line
I'm just glad it happened in daylight hours.
I couldn't imagine 20
boats or so anchored together like some of you talk about a lot
