Porta bote drain plug any one..or porta bote hacks.

I have a potato bote alpha 10ft with a 6hp 4 stroke. It gets up and goes and I've had it in some rough seas feels pretty safe once you trust the flexing.its been drug over Coral and barnicles, tied to cliffs with pounding waves, used as a fender , dropped many sharp objects . Tied up to many bridge pilings with sharp nails... I'm sure happy with it. Not perfect but deff better then I expected. I need to add a drain plug So i can put it on davits with out fear of it filling up. All I've found was starboard side as far down and aft as possible.. any one added a plug to theirs ?

Did you try it yet? We just got a portabote and were thinking about adding a drain hole as well...

I have not tried it yet. When I get davits I will need somthing. When offshore I'll fold it at put it on the cat walks. When inshore and anchor hopping I'll put it on the davits where I'll need the drain plug. Really like the porta bote as a rugged dinghy other then the fact it'll fill with water.

I have a 12ft Porta-bote and installed a drain plug for a plastic livestock watering tank made by Rubbermaid. It was larger in diameter than others available online. I put it in the middle of the stern with the plug on the inside. When crossing, I carry the bote upside down in the davits so it doesn't fill with water from a following sea.
