Pearson 365 Keel Construction

Mine sounds hollow. I see what seems to be a drain plug as well. Question: Is this a water ballast keel ? If so, where the hell is it filled ?

Re: Pearson 365 Keel Construction

Interesting question to be asking about a boat you already have!

The drain plug is probably just a bilge drain for use when on the hard. Be sure to install it before launching.

I'm 99.999% sure that the keel isn't water filled or that it is hollow.

how about posting a picture.

Re: Pearson 365 Keel Construction

The P365 has an encapsulated lead keel. The plug is to drain off any water which seeps down from the bilge to aid in drying out the boat when on the hard.
