I have a 303 '87 that has been all I've been looking for in terms of
maintenance hobby and sailing
training wheels.
One of the things that I can't seem to find a solution to is how to drain the puddle that forms by the not-so-dripless shaft, behind the
engine. There's a little void there where
water accumulates, either slowly or at
motor faster.
There seems to be a hole going in under the
engine cradle, I can see it when I look from the shaft side, by the
gear box or so, but I do not see any exit hole towards the
bilge at the forward end of the
cradle so it doesn't do anything.
Water accumulates until it's enough to run around the cradle and into the
bilge which is too much in my opinion.
It's a very common
classic, anyone else had the same problem and found a fix that doesn't involve open heart surgery?
Yellow dotted is the puddle area, green blurb is where there's a hole into/under the cradle. Large red box is engine, small red box is
gearbox.
