I had something similar as an early teen ( before my foray into wood ski boats). Recoved my sanity in my 20's with a cute 25' cypress hulled sloop- probably older than Goran's.

Like falling in love with the 'wrong' girl. EVERYBODY tells you steer clear but how does it count when you have fallen in love?

Makes for some good "Misspent youth" stories. My brother never came back and is still a "stinkpotter".
