Its a 1979 Spirit 28. Its a Finch design made by Glastron and North American.

I am meeting a professional on Sunday to look at it. He was recommended by two separate boat yards. He told me he is booked through Memorial Day.

The boat will be shrink wrapped through the season to help mitigate. I'll report back after the weekend.

Re: Old topic but need some reassurance/guestimates

Just to close the loop on this, I met with the local pro fiberglass guy. He was recommended by two yards. In particular the yard where the fancy boats stay. He said it was minor. He's seen new boats with worse cracks.

We discussed the fact that its crunching as we walk over it and preventing it from getting worse. He's going to drill a couple small holes. Use some form of vacuum machine to suck moisture out, fill the holes with epoxy to create a bridge through the core from fiberglass to fiberglass to prevent further movement. File to match nonskid as much as possible. Gelcoat.

I'm going to keep this guy in my "rolodex". Really nice guy. He gave me tips to repair a couple of other minor items on my to-do list
