'Oh Joy' Restoration - Finally Getting into it . . .
Here's the first port. Check out that glass. Ya think they build it to take heavy seas?
How about that 50 yr old caulk?
More goodies. The after on the port.
Only nine more to go.
Some of the varnish stripping going on ALL OVER the boat.

Wow...great pics...good luck with this...I hope you can keep us posted on what you're doing.
Speaking of pics...the next time you're taking some shots at the marina how about some snaps of some of those beautiful boats around you!

Aloha Charlie,
For some reason I thought your hull was wood. Is it glass over wood or solid glass? Really a nice looking vessel.
That first spar in the photo - is that your bowsprit?
Kind regards,
JohnL

John, she's glass over the wooden hull done with C-Flex. Yep, that's the sprit. Thanks, she'll look better when I finish.

Nice old ports, too bad more of us to make them like that any more. That is real glass and everything, eh?

I'll have some up later in the week. It's going along Ok I guess, slower than I like but that's expected. We're about 60% done with stripping the brightwork and most of the ports are out for work. The hull is about 40% stripped as well. I haven't started back up on the deck as I'm waiting for the weather to settle out more. The engine is ready to come out now, except for one frozen mount that I'll probably have to cut the nut off of.
