Novice with A 21ft Shetland Cabin Cruiser

Hi everyone,

Apologies if the etiquette of this site isn't followed correctly - I'm new!

I brought the title boat last Feb 2012, which had been left to rot five years previous.

I have lots to do, as all I really have of value is the 1300 cc Cortina Cross Flow engine and the pre 1968 hull.

I have done quiet a lot of work to the floor structure in the cockpit (pics will be uploaded to my profile), but I'm being badgered by our harbour master to smarten up the outside. Therefore, I have been thinking about front screens. As I want to do as much of the restore myself, I'm wanting to build an Aluminium/glass screen, mounted on a wooden base - base yet to be built. I'm very good at putting instructions into practice, so long as I can refer back to the originator when necessary.

Anyway, what I'm looking for, is some help with places to purchase the aluminium (help with sizes and terminology would be good too!), along with patterns that I would be able to bastardise to make a bespoke screen.

Any help would be of a great help.

Cheers

Richard

onlinemetals.com ? or a trip to a local metal fabricator in your area, if not for the material itself than at least for his opinion. where are you located?

Hi, and thank you for your reply.

I will look at the website that you've suggested.

I live in Bristol, UK.

Kind regards
