Noresman or Hi-MOD terminals?

I’m just about to reorganize my 3/8” stainless 1 x 19 wire standing rigging and I need to use swageless stud terminals to screw into my turnbuckles. I am familiar with Norseman terminals and know how awkward they are to bend the wire round the cones. The West Marine rigging people told me their Hi-MOD terminals are easier because the cone has slots, so you don’t have to bend the wire.
Does anyone have experience with Hi-MOD terminals?

No experience with Hi-Mods but have used Staloks for 35 years and never had a problem with the installation.

Re: Noresman or Hi-MOD terminals?

Yep, re-did my entire rig with Hi-Mods. Very easy after doing 1 or 2. Did not screw any up and I've never done any standing rigging before. Roberts 44 Offshore Ketch so two masts. Removed a couple because I had to shorten a stay and they went right back on. Very easy as even I can do them! Love em

Re: Noresman or Hi-MOD terminals?

the hi-mod requires no bending of wires, and the slotted washer makes placing the wires a snap.. I redid our rig with hi-mods on everything except the bottom of the shrouds as there were already staloks there. The staloks were easy, the himods even easier!!

FYI, got mine from Rigging Only and NOT Waste Marine. Great price and they know their stuff.

I re-did my 14mm shrouds with Hi-mod. Very easy, even with the big wire. they have a movie on their web site showing how. I too got mine from the good folks at Rigging Only. They were far less expensive than anyone else and very helpfull.

Re: Noresman or Hi-MOD terminals?

Thanks very much everyone. I will price Hi-Mods with Rigging Only against my West Marine Port Supply price.

Re: Noresman or Hi-MOD terminals?

Plus one for rigging only Tom was very helpful. Price was good. I have sta lok remplacement using existing has been easy. how ever they can be a little trickey getting the wire and cone out. a few of the sta loks the former was jammed up. might consider something else given this but its what is on the boat.
