The problem is that the cat is grown and the puppy not; cats are much better coordinated than a dog is.
Even so, both my cats ended up in the
water. One kept her cool and saved herself quite well. The other made a series of bad choices and if several people hadn't been around would surely have drowned.
I don't think for one moment the one cat I have now (gave the other one away) would fall in or even jump in, but puppies are so excitable, and just not nerly as well coordinated. I wouldn't have a puppy without netting.
On my
boat the netting is for me, not a pet. With my poor leg coordination, I crawl to the bow if it's rough and I have to go up there.
