need advise.help

My CS 30 boat was grounded just before haul-out in Fall 2011
. Boat impacted a submerged shoal under power. Impact caused keel to rotate aft and up into the hull. The resulting force from the keel’s rotation caused some structural damage to the hull stringer grid inside the boat. Please help me how damage can be repaired?Im cant afford more then $5000 if it possible fix for this price range?

Can't say it it's possible to fix without pictures. Pay particular attention to the keel attachments point, lost keels have cost lives.

Re: need advise.help

DIY or pay a boat yard?

Don't know the CS 27 but if the damage is serious and the keel a solid, external structure bolted to the hull I would first remove the keel. Then cut out all areas where the glass is shattered and/or delaminated, sand and grind the broken areas until you reach good, solid glass, then rebuild with layers of cloth and resin.

If possible, remove the interior structure so you can access both sides of the damaged area.

Any deformity where the keel bolts attach is bad, it the keel really has rotated back, drop it. I think you'll be near to over the 5K mark if you need to do a lot of grinding and laminating.

Re: need advise.help

I would recommend you hire a professional to at least look at it and make recommendations on repairs. If you are doing the work yourself hiring a pro as a consultant will save you time and money. You will get a lot of advice here but nobody can really give you good advice without seeing it up close and personal. I take it you do not have insurance? If the repairs are not done right the results will at best devalue the boat at worst end in disaster. Good luck
