Navik windvane

Hi Guys, Anybody used a Navik on a 40ft, 17000lb boat.? I'm wondering if it is man enough? Thanks.

not really designed for anything over 30 ft!

find an aries or monitor unless you like hand steering on ocean passages

Yes, that is my take on it too. It is just that I saw on their website a warning to be carefull when using one on a 50ft+ boat with long overhangs, the pendulum may lift out of the water. ! ! and I found it hard to imagine a Navik on a 50ft boat.

the problem with the navik is its very light construction.
sure it would steer a big boat.
just not for very long
