I don't see them often anymore, but every once in a while, I'll come across someone with a seagull strapped to his stern pulpit, so must assume it is still running. I have some experience with them back in the late 70's, I think it was a 4 hp....I believe there was also an 6 hp....but can't recall anymore.
But once Suzuki and Yamaha came out with their 2 hp outboards, it was game over.

Don Street of Iolaire fame used one as his main propulsion for his boat...a 46' wood yawl probably twice as old as the engine....

But, I digress...Alex seems to be enjoying a comfortable lead today....
