At $6,000 to $10,000, I could live with a shop vac solution.
That's a lot of Bones.

Build your own dry bilge system for fraction of the cost of an off the shelf unit.

Just a point. Watertight bulkheads are not necessarily watertight. Limber holes only let a small amount of water through and a pump at the lowest point should be sufficient to handle that. The talk about valves? Have a bung, if for some reason you need to make a bulkhead truly watertight. eg the pump fails or you have a catastrophic leak.

Re: My many wet micro-bilges -- advice?

I would suggest a Florida company called ARID BILGE SYSTEMS (954) 328 9705 or www.aridbilge.com These people have a vacuum system that will cover up to 11 zones and it works. I have a 4 zone system on my boat for two years now and it works like a champ. The only drawback is that the vacuum system must dump the water it collects into something down hill from it. I use a small plastic waste basket with the smallest bilge pump and switch I could find. My main bilge pumps only come on when I test them.
