Meter to find moisture under teak deck

I want to check for moisture under my teak deck, what meter to buy the can see thru the 1/2 thickness and thru the underlaying fiberglass?
Any help with this appreciated.

No such meter. The best you can do is to use a moisture meter UNDER the deck, which generally requires removing headliner, or whatever is in the way.

Spot on correct.

Additionally, thick deck paint with non-skid harbors moisture and will give false readings.

If the teak deck is secured with fasteners to a cored deck, you can fashion a homemade moisture meter relatively easily.

Find a flat piece of hardwood, something you can comfortably hold in your hand.

Pick the side that you'll place on the deck. Write on it, "This side toward deck."

On the opposite side, write "Moisture: Yes"

The fat person moisture meter works for me. I am a 105kg and when I step on a teak deck if there's some flexing then there's moisture. Some leaky teakys are so bad it feels like walking on a marshmallow!
