Re: Mariner Ovens - Mariner Range w/Oven

Hi L/B My stove sounds a little different but most oven knobs work on the same principal especially when it has a thermocouple ( flame failure ) devise as our stoves do to turn the gas off to that burner ( oven) if the flame goes out.
When you turn the oven knob to 9:00 you will need to push the knob in and hold there while you press the piezo to light the flame some times several clicks then hold the oven button in for for maybe 30 seconds to heat and activate the thermocouple then you can turn the oven knob around to your desired temp.
If like me there is no temp markings around the knob so you will have to get used to where the knob is to give you the temp you want. An infra red temp gauge is great for this.
Good luck they are a great stove I also got mine S/H but have been using it for over 10 years now its great Cheers Jacko

Re: Mariner Ovens - Mariner Range w/Oven

Thanks Jacko!

I’ve spent some time with it, and used a stick lighter instead of the Piezo, but it seems like gas isn’t flowing to the little hat-shaped outlet that compromises the pilot light that warms up the thermocouple. (When the M button is held down at 9:00 - I get that the principle is like a gas water heater control)

O wel. It’s a shame that parts are unobtainium. Overall it’s a decent stove.

Mine seems to be missing the tray/cover in the roof of the oven as well.
Does anyone have a picture of it?

Best, T

My Force 10 burners would not stay lit last week. Polished the thermocouples with very fine sand paper, now work fine.

Re: Mariner Ovens - Mariner Range w/Oven

Hi there.
Our mariner oven has stopped working. The spark is still working but the gas is not coming through. It could be due to the jets needing cleaning or the oven gas control knob not working properly.
The rest of the elements are workign extremely well!
Do you know how to access the oven jet so as to try cleaning it?
Thanks Kate

Are these old mariner stoves kerosene or alcohol? I seem to remember them being kerosene.
