Not sure which forum to post this in, seemed to be kinda related? I am looking for a marine surveyor in the Grand Maris MN area. The google does not seem to know of any, hoping someone here can recommend one.

I hang around a lot of boats each year. I know a survey is required most of the time for financing and insurance reasons. But if you are looking to use the survey to buy a boat and understand it's condition, I would suggest that once you find that boat you can't live without that you hire a good "Marine" electrician, a good rigger, a good diesel mechanic, at the least on top of your survey for about two hours of their time. Better insurance you can't buy. Anyone of the above start shaking their heads and you know it's gonna cost. Get this information first before you start making offers. It can make a difference in tens of thousands of dollars.
