Telephone company cable is wired:
Red wire to “R” (Ring)
Green wire to “T”
(Tip)
Yellow wire to “GR”
(Ground)
Black wire not used

In four wire plugs, the second pair are black tip, and yellow ring.
For a third pair, orange tip, and blue ring.

Marinco (3 wire) telephone cable sets are wired as follows:
Black wire to “R”
White wire to “T”
Green wire to “GR”
