Looming for a source for Monel blind rivets?

I'm having a hardtime sourcing 1/4 or 6mm blind rivets (poprivets) made of Monel. Found one place in the UK that had a few(plus shipping to US). Anyone know a source?

Try searching “Nautos Monel Rivets” on ebay. I bought some that way. Spent a lot of time searching for them. Florida supplier.

Looks like it is these guys selling them - https://nautos-usa.com/pages/search-...s-page?q=Monel

I wonder how long before the "bricks and mortar" outlets close up shop?

I use online shopping all the time these days

Monel rivets seem to be pretty common for marine suppliers in Europe and probably Aus, but are pretty much unobtanium at most US retailers.

My local West Marine and Fisheries Supply seem really busy these days, even without Monel rivets.

Not sure the grip size you need, but this is in the ballpark:
https://www.skygeek.com/cherry-aerospace-cr3553-8-4-cherry-rivets.html
And here is a Cherry rivet sizing/part number chart:
http://www.cherryaerospace.com/docs/...gs/CA-1016.pdf

SkyGeek looks sketchy but is legit, while ~$9 for a single 1/4" monel Cherrymax (airliner-grade) rivet is about what I'd expect to pay (not saying that you need such a rivet, but rather the price is appropriate for that grade).

Steve Lavigne

The way I see it these days, is that if you have to drive five mile to pick up some rivets they become rather expensive. Mind you my (then) teenage daughter once told me, in a fit of pique, I was miserable with my money. (Now she fills her freezer with marked-down items)

I bought a box of 100 monel rivets from Grainger, for less than the price of ten at the major chandelries, for a major refit, about ten years ago.

In case you are stuck, I found these people on the web. Look like specialists in everything to do with rivets & other blind fittings, including monel, copper & associated tools needed (those are big rivets in monel you are after).

I was interested because where they are in Hednesford in UK midlands used to be part of my patch as an industrial sales rep in another life (over 50 years ago..). It is, or was then, real industrial heartland country. The sort of place where you can get anything made. Or could back then. It is interesting to see someone making a business out of such a niche area. Good luck, anyway.

Re: Looming for a source for Monel blind rivets?

Here in UK any fastening supplier will have them is stock.
They do expect you to buy a packet - 100 - 500, because they're not into breaking bulk. We have about 18 here in the West Midlands.
Unfortunately none appear to have a website - though most use e-mail.

PS finding Imperial dimensioned rivets is impossible so US engineering needs to catch up with the rest of the world.

They seem to have what you want and do prices in Can and US so assume they can ship.
Good luck.
