Looking for a large bronze cleat.

I have a broken cleat on my foredeck. It is bronze, hollow, 17" long and shaped in an arc. I am to replace the broken one. If anyone can steer me in the right direction or has one to sell, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Brad

Re: Looking for a large bronze cleat.

You can try Bristol Bronze in Tiverton, RI.

Bristol Bronze

The owner is Roger Winiarski and he can make a new cleat from your old one. Send him the parts and he can glue them together well enough to make a lost wax mold, then cast you a new one. You can specify type of bronze and finish--the higher the grades, the more expensive. Call him first to discuss precisely what you need, and he'll advise you what to do.

Roger purchased all the hardware molds from the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company and keeps stock items of some of the more popular pieces of hardware.

Good luck!

Eric

Re: Looking for a large bronze cleat.

Thanks for the lead Matt, those cleats are too small and none of them are arced, I guess I am going to have to go to a custom rebuild or start over with a new set of different ones. I would like to find another arced one, I like the way they look.

Re: Looking for a large bronze cleat.

You could try Pete Langley at The Port Townsend Foundry in Washington State as well. A google search will get you to him.
