Leisure Furl

Hey Folks,

Thinking about adding a Leisure Furl to my Sabre 452. Can I get some feedback from Leisure Furl owners on the pros and cons and whether they recommend the unit. Also who built the mainsail for their setup. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Any reason you want to go w/in a boom roller instead of slab reefing?

We sailed an Apogee 51 w/a LF and wasn't too impressed. The owner had a second sail made after the 1st sail maker did make it correctly. (so, you are correct to get a good sail maker experienced in making LF sails).

The other issue was getting the boom angle correct when reefing. While they were clever enough to built in an angle gauge into the vang, we had redo the reef since it was too baggy.

Another con for me was the preconceived notion that the LF would allow infinite reefing capabilities. While more than slab, the reefing was designated by the sail maker's placement of the battens, so not as much fine tuning as we wanted.
