Interior Wood Suggestions?

am looking at doing a little remodeling in my catalina 27 nothing big just a few opening compartments and perhaps a door to close off the head. now the inside wood in the boat is currently teak but with the price of teak around here its quite cost prohibitive to do. anyone have any suggestions for a decent looking wood that i could use and perhaps stain to look like teak. or maybe someone has some different suggestions. thanks

I used mahagony on my interior however I have seen some nice work out of red oak.

I reworked the interior of a 26-footer and used oak for all the trim since it was easy to purchase in the forms I desired. You may be able to cut down your wood needs by either painting or using laminate on some of the other surface. I smoothed out a plywood door, then laminated it and had oak trim around it. I nice upgrade without too much cost.
