Re: Installing a steering on a tiller

I have hydraulic steering on my Hallberg Rassy and a tiller. I have this arrangement because the boat came this way. I installed a valve to create a loop at the helm, to use the tiller for the windvane and/or as an emergency tiller. To be honest, If the boat had come with just a tiller, I would have preferred it that way.

Re: Installing a steering on a tiller

If I understand you correctly, you want to create a linkage or cable system connecting the tiller to a wheel. I can see no reason why it couldn't be done. I do seem to recall some old woodies having steering wheels linked to outboard mounted rudders with small tillers pointed aft.
