Infrared Stripper

I am in the struggle of stripping the plastic finish that was on my cap rail of a 38 Cabo Rico. Thinking there must be a better way that a blistering heat gun and scraper I came across the Eco-Strip speedheater cobra infrared stripper. Watching videos of itís use Iím impressed with the lower heat applied only to the surface and quick time about 5 seconds than scrap. It is expensive but if it is all it says it is it would be worth it and hoping to share with several diys at our marina. Is there anyone out there who has used the Speedheater cobra infrared stripper? What did you think of it?

Re: Infrared Stripper

Haven't used that, sounds interesting. Apparently there are rentable IR paint removers in some markets, and someone's even put out instructions on how to make one.
