I recently replaced the impeller in the water
pump of my engine
The good news is it now sends a nice, steady gush of water through the engine
The bad news is that it also send a steady stream of water out the sides and back and into the bilge
. I re-sealed the plate that covers the rubber impeller, but that doesn't seem to have helped.
I should say it did not do this before I replaced the impeller (which, because of brilliant design, required the removal
of the whole pump).
I'd rather not spend $300 on a whole new pump
, but I'm beginning to worry that it might be necessary.
It's an Isuzu C240 diesel
. Any advice/ideas appreciated.
