Hunter Main Sheet Location

Hello,

I have a 1974 Hunter 25. The previous owner made some ridiculous modifcations to the boat. I would like to take her back to the orginal layout.

He relocated the main sheet to a self made steering column in the cockpit. I like the column, but I feel he did not take into account the moment when on a run.

My question: Where is the original location of the main sheet in the cockpit? The never had a traveller so I can't interpolate from missing bolt holes.

Thank you for you help.
