I've heard of "air guitar". But not "air hardware". I say bed it with 5200! That way you will be able to see it.

Re: How would you bed this?

For my bedding projects, champagne is usually a sure thing, but beer, though not anywhere as efficacious, is far cheaper. Mojitos fall in between. Of course, too many mojitos and plenty of things fall

Re: How would you bed this?

2nd john61ct. For things that move about a little like chain plates, butyl is the way to go. It remains plastic so will move with chainplate. If you aren't removing the chainplate, force down a bunch of the butyl between the metal and the deck with a putty knife, flexible spreader or whatever will work to force the butyl into the space. Pick a hot day when the butyl is most pliant to do the caulking.

Ask the OP to post pics first, you dont yet know what, or who, he wants you to bed yet. You may need a lot more alcohol...or none at all! 🤣

Alas, the pic is now posted...its just deck hardware! Agree butyl, not champagne.

Re: How would you bed this?

You may have trouble with butyl spreading around on those pristine teak decks... could be messy.

All quite funny
Tape around the chain plate cover remover it
I use a marine black Sicka place the ss cover back on squeeze gently put a little weight on it leave for the curing period remove the tape and you have a perfect job
