Horizon Standard Depth Sounder

I have an old Horizon Standard Depth Sounder, model DS-1 that finally stopped working after water got into the display. Looking to possibly replace with a unit that can use the through-hull transducer that I am guessing, not sure though, came with it originally. Has anyone had any luck with a replacement for this unit utilizing the old transducer? There are quite a few boats in my marina still using the HS sounder, so I am assuming these were popular back in the day. Thanks...

Skylark,

Did you ever find a solution regarding the DS-1? I am in the same "boat".

Re: Horizon Standard Depth Sounder

I did. Moor Electronics has a direct replacement. Same hole size and same transducer. Easiest job I have done on the boat to date.
ldc

Good luck

Good luck
Did you just hook the sounder head unit up to the already installed old transducer from the DS-1?

Re: Horizon Standard Depth Sounder

I just called Moor Electronics. They quoted their LDC (just the receiver without transducer) at $227. I think it'll be cheaper for me to just replace the entire system with a Humminbird.
