Heat Gun

Can anyone recommend a good heat gun for general use (moderate priced); heat shrink tubes for electrical work, remove varnish from teak, etc. Thanks

Re: Heat Gun

I got a cheap one at Harbor Freight about four years ago (on sale, and with a discount coupon, I think it cost me less than $10). I don't use it a whole lot, but it has been working fine since I got it.

Re: Heat Gun

I have a cheap plastic one I keep on the boat, works just as well as the expensive cast aluminum one I have at home

Re: Heat Gun

This is one of the times when a tool from Harbor Freight will do just fine, at least for the casual user. A pro might want something better with a set of deflectors for specific tasks.
