Hatches Restoration

I have old aluminum hatches and would like to restore them. I believe they are Lewmar or Goiot. Anyway the seem to be very well constructed but the frames are anodized aluminun and look tired. I would like to replace the acrilic. What should I use...lexan, acrilic etc....Should I sand and paint the frames with silver colored imron or similar??????? Any ideas........
