hatch screens

Anyone have a lead on aftermarket hatch screens. My '86 hatches have no screens and the manufacturer no longer stocks them.

Due the wide variety of hatch sizes & shapes, most aftermarket hatch screens are not the fitted insert type that OEM’s offered - but one-size-fits-all tent-type.

Maggie made our hatch screens, but sewing Velcro (the “hairy” Loop part) ribbon around the perimeter of a hemmed screen, and gluing the hook ribbon around the inside perimeter of the hatch. Worked very well.

A, larger, companionway screen was made by hemming weights into the upper and lower edge of the screen. The top edge was additionally secured with a bungee cord.

I just got some 1 inch hook velcro and some 4200 to stick around the hatch. Bought the screen and some 1/2 loop velcro but on both sides then 4200 together. Can be sowed latter.

This is a 2 person job but can be done with 1.
