Hatch installation without screws?

Hi Together!
Our shipyard is currently replacing old hatches and put the new ones in without screws. The explanation is that the new hatches have the screws at different positions than the old ones. So it would be needed to drill new holes in the hull. This would weaken the hull and the glueing with Sikaflex is anyway bomb proof I have been told.
What do you think?
