Be sure to sand out the area you color match to thoroughly with 1000 grit and then polish it before color matching. This is to ensure you are matching the original color and not oxidization.
Basic tints for matching shades of white should include Light Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Chromate, Black. Many shades may also require very small amounts of red or green tints.
Try matching under packing tape. Theres a video around here somewhere. Nauticat 52 refit
thread has a series of pics on how to do it too. Packing tape or clear mylar film helps a lot.
