Goiot Tradition Hatch Seal

I have discovered that the hatch seal material is trapazoidal. Anyone here know of a vendor besides Rig-Rite? Any personal experience with Goiot hatch seal replacement will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Goiot Tradition Hatch Seal

I have no idea if it was Goiot and it was a few years ago, but I got a length of suitable gasket for our Goiot portlights off a bulk-reel at one of the marine stores in Florida - I think it was Sailorman in Ft Lauderdale.

Skip Rig-Rite. They think everything they sell is gold plated. HEAVILY gold plated.

The gasket is not unique to Goiot, it is a trapazoid, 14mm at the base, 12mm at the top and 10mm high. It is available from many gasket suppliers.

If you can not find it on the industrial market, try the Caribbean chandleries, Budget Marine or Island Water World, or https://www.international-boat-spare...ion-hatch.html

Note that this gasket material tends to be very hard, and takes a long time to "squash down" and really be leak tight. The upside of this is it lasts a LONG time.
